Aviation Security Officer Qualifications

Candidates for Aviation Security Officer positions must meet the following qualifications:

General Security Officer Qualifications:

• U.S. citizen
• High school diploma or GED
• Fluency in English and any other site-required language
• Valid drivers license and a five-year safe driving record
• No convictions of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence

Special Aviation Security Officer Qualifications:

• Be a US citizens
• Have 7 years of clean background and credit history
• English and Spanish fluency highly desired
• Security personnel meet the minimum requirements of one year of full time experience as a United States corrections/detention officer or as a law enforcement officer employed by a United States local, state or federal law enforcement entity

Additional Aviation Security Officer Qualifications:

• Be able to interact tactfully with people
• Be able to understand, explain, and apply rules
• Be able to respond calmly and quickly in stressful situations
• Be able to prepare clear and concise reports
• Be able to adapt to change
• Be able to respond well to direction
